My students need to have exposure to books related to our new science standards, and the ramps and scooter boards will allow them to put what they are learning about motion and stability into action!

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Kindergarten is such a magical year! I strive to meet the needs of my diverse students with engaging and meaningful instruction every day. Five year olds are naturally curious, have lots of energy, and they love hands-on learning. My goal as an educator is to help inspire, nurture, and develop kind, responsible, independent thinkers. The physical, social-emotional development, and academic progress of my students throughout the year are all equally important to me as an educator. Developing the "whole" child is my ultimate goal!
My Project
My kindergarten students absolutely LOVE science time in our classroom. Their curious minds are filled with questions and wonder about the world around them. This year I have invested a lot of time and energy into building exciting hands-on STEM activities to help teach the new NGSS science standards to my little scientists. Currently, I am in need of informational books to help support my students' understanding of "Forces and Stability". Building background knowledge of science concepts and vocabulary through text provides a foundation to the science they are exploring. The scooter boards, ramps, and balls will give my kindergarteners the opportunity to put their science learning into "motion"!
