Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are 6-7 year olds that are ready to explore a world that is constantly evolving and changing.
I have a diverse group of students that come to school from very different backgrounds and unique sets of challenges.
I have everything from English language learners to students that are high level learners that are ready for a challenge. It is my responsibility to make sure each student's needs are being met. I want them all to leave first grade feeling challenged and successful!
My Project
First graders come to school excited, curious and ready to soak it all in. Word work is a daily routine in our classroom that gives students a hands-on experience to explore words and word patterns. My students will have access to these manipulatives to help make connnections to letters and letter sounds and store it into their long-term memory.
Word work will help my young scholars become better readers, spellers, and writers.
The letter and word sets that I am asking for will be used to help learners at every developmental stage. Students will be able to work on meaningful, differentiated activities that they choose. These items will add excitement and flexibility to our morning work. I have the bins, please help me fill them!
