Cure Rainy Day Blues With STEM Games & P.E. Equipment
My students need rainy day recess and P.E. equipment like hula hoops and an Osmo Pizza Co. game, so that they can remain active and social while the weather keeps them in!
China, Iran, Israel, Japan, Afghanistan, and France are just a few home countries that my students hail from. It has been a journey for them this school year, moving to America, being submerged into a new language and new surroundings, and having to make new friends.
My students are bright and friendly; they love to learn, love to move, and love to sing songs in English.
They work very hard despite the challenges they face as they learn how to read, write, and speak English. Many of my students love science and love group projects.
It is my challenge to accommodate them when I can, challenge them when I can, and show compassion as they navigate the complexities of the English language.
My Project
My students love P.E. and games. It's a sad day when they have to stay in, but I want to promote interactive play even when we have less space to move!
On rainy days, I let the students play board games during recess and lunch, and I want to give students access to more educational games like Math for Love Prime Climb and Snap Circuits Jr.
I believe these fun and educational games will promote critical thinking and a love for learning.
We are also limited in P.E. equipment if we need to stay inside. There are so many active, team building activities we can carry out with simple objects like hula hoops, pool noodles, and beach balls! This project will improve cooperative play while maintaining creativity and forward thinking in our classroom.
