W.E.S. is home to 562 students, excited and enthusiastic each and every day! The school offers students in grades K4, K5, 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 a plethora of educational and extra curricular activities to enhance learning. This year, the school introduced, for the first time, MIT (Modern Informational Technologies), a K-8 computer science program. Fit for Life (FFL), a healthy lifestyles initiative, is being implemented at the elementary school as well this year.
Students interested in extra curricular activities can choose between the SADD club, Reading Team, Math 24 Challenge, History Competition, Majorettes, or Cheerleading.
Or, if creativity and critical thinking are something a student really enjoys, they are encouraged to sign up for one of the STEAM program's extraordinary clubs: First LEGO League and K'Nex Challenge.
My Project
Less obtrusive than a therapy ball, but just as helpful for curbing the wiggles! The Flex-Space Wobble Cushion provides a constructive outlet for movement during circle time or desk work. This project will directly help students with coordination, mood, attention, sensory-seeking, and travel issues.
The cushion will encourage weight shifting and movement to sharpen focus while supporting the challenges of ADHD, sensory processing disorder, and autism.
W.E.S. is home to 562 students in grades K4 through 5. My current goal is to raise enough funds to obtain one cushion for each classroom in the school. The long-term goal is for each classroom to have a class set.
