The Culver's Coffee Cart Crew is a group of special needs students working together developing job skills in the food service industry. This program was started in March by another Donors Choose project. This group of students are from a low income area in Northern Illinois.
These students have been developing communication and social skills since the beginning of March, and the staff could not be more proud of the students.
The students have been working different jobs within the Cart project including Waiter, Cashier, Server, and Coffee Maker. We could not be more proud of this project!
My Project
When the Coffee Cart began, the students and teachers in the school were very excited. When we first ordered our products, we made sure to familarize the students with how they work and what to do. They have had to learn how to use the Keurig, keep track of supplies, and communicate to others.
The coffees, teas, and paper materials selected will be used to continue the Culver's Cart and the improvement of social skills and money skills.
With the continued support, the students will be able to flourish in their job skills. It has become a huge success and it has been a joy to watch it develop. All teachers get excited when their Coffee Cart day comes around!
