Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

Inspire these kindergartners to read! We are in a high-need community and we need books! We need culturally relevant books for our diverse population that will excite them and connect to their own lives.

While we have do have some books, many are not appropriate or are too old. We also need extra copies for reading groups and for the listening center.

We need these books to excite the students and to inspire them to read and to write. Books that connect to their own lives and history spark their interest which carries over into all areas of school, both socially and and academically.

Your help will ensure that my students begin a lifelong love of reading, writing, and history.
