My students need a wide selection of up-to-date books that include many cultures and ethnicities, as well as, current family dynamics and demographics. These books are perfect for any Kindergartener through third grade!

My students are an amazing group of kiddos, coming from the lowest socioeconomic neighborhoods in the city, they persevere and achieve what some would never believe. They may not have all that they want, but when they come to school they will have all that they need to make their dreams happen and to let them feel equal to everyone around them.
Many of my students come to school hungry every morning, after the weekend the hunger is almost unbearable, so learning is an after thought.
For many children the only meals they will have are at school. Although circumstances at home vary, this is no fault of the children, we just want them nourished and taken care of and ready to learn!
Food, shelter, and security are the number one things on my students' minds. Many come to school ready to eat, as the breakfast and lunch they receive will be the only meals they have each day. The love they receive from teachers can be a deciding factor in many of their futures.
