This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have such a beautiful group of students in my class. I have the exact same students that I had in kindergarten. They are now my first graders. I love that they are creative, motivated, and consistently seek answers to their questions . My students are collaborative and celebrate our cultural diversity. They are always ready to help those in need. My students are respectful, critical thinkers, and love learning. Half of my class are English Language Learners. My class loves to read, write, engage in choice play activities, and love technology.
My Project
My vision for my students is to gain academic success in all content areas. These tablets, magazines, and books will positively impact my students love of learning and make a difference in my students’ reading, writing, and comprehension skills. My students love reading and having new books will afford them the opportunity to share their thinking with their peers and allow them to achieve at high levels. Having new books in the classroom will sustain their love of reading and writing. The students love to use their favorite books as mentor texts to inspire their writing too. These resources will motivate my first graders to achieve academic excellence. Having Amazon tablets will engage all learners including Students with Disabilities and my English Language Learners. They need technology to support their individualized needs and it will also give them the tools that they need to be successful as well.
