This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My middle school students enjoy coming to school. Our institution of learning is a place where they can come and discover new ideas on a daily basis.
They look forward to what our school can offer them.
Our school includes students in sixth through eighth grade. We are located on the outskirts of town. There is a United States Coast Guard Base, universities, and a local history museum within a five-mile radius. Some of my students are members of military families. At our school, we have One Belief, One Focus, One Goal!
My Project
This professional development will allow me to attend the National Association of Gifted Children Convention. This convention will allow me to learn from the leading experts about engaging classrooms where gifted students are present. It will also allow me to learn strategies so that I can play a part in cultivating the culture in the school in regards to gifted students.
Gifted students are gifted all day, every day!!!
This project will cover the cost of the registration and lodging for the National Association of Gifted Children. This professional development will impact our school's culture and student engagement. I will learn about researched based strategies that have been proven to work and that I can implement with the students in my school.
