My Students

The lack of student engagement in the classroom is a growing problem faced by many school districts including my own.

The lack of student engagement is a growing issue for many school districts including my very own.

The trend of disengagement is causing absenteeism to rise. The root of disengagement can stem from multiple factors including broken homes and emotional and academic barriers. Many of the students within our district are also students with special needs and English Language Learners. These students can become frustrated when learning new concepts, which can lead to disengaged learning. It is important to find ways to continually keep students engaged in the classroom and motivated to attend school.

My Project

The 21st-century classroom and student needs access to technology in order to thrive in the world today. Students need to learn how to use technology as a tool in order to investigate and communicate their ideas to others. Technology is an interactive way to increase student curiosity and engagement in the classroom.

These Chromebooks will be used to tailor instruction to fit the many different needs of my students as well as facilitate research.

By allowing students to work on their own individual level and with topics of interests to them, students will in turn be motivated and excited to come to school every day to learn.
