This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My art students love to use their wild imaginations to create original art. They enjoy exploring their creativity using a wide variety of media such as acrylic paint and clay. They crave opportunities to work together on projects that challenge their abilities and help them sharpen their skills.
My students have learned that art can be therapeutic, and they often use my class to express their feelings creatively through drawing, painting, poetry and music.
My greatest challenge is supplying materials for over 100 children without having a budget. Although a supply list was sent home for parents, the reality is that many students aren't able to bring in the supplies needed.
My Project
Quality materials increase the quality of work produced. When students are given the right tools, they are excited to learn how to use them properly. Students love to learn new painting techniques and show off their skills, but a lack of tools can make it difficult for students to expressive themselves creatively and design art that displays a high level of craftsmanship.
Paint, brushes, paper, color pencils, and clay is needed to keep students engaged and excited to create.
I purchased many of these items in September, but we do not have enough to last until June. Please consider giving to our campaign.
