This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Jobs we do as adults we potentially do for decades. Our Culinary Academy is preparing students to do jobs that they are going to love for decades. With these books these students will be excited about a culinary career, anywhere in the world, in a way that they never dreamed possible.

Our students are from one of the poorest states in the country, in one of the worst schools, and with some of the bleakest prospects.

However, the students in my academy are daring to dream beyond their stark daily lives. They are dreaming of bursting out onto the global stage in the world of culinary and hospitality.

My Project

The books this project will provide, A Cook's Tour: Global Adventures in Extreme Cuisines, will help to kindle the dreams my students have of surpassing their multi-generational poverty in a way they have only been dreaming of. By exposing them to literature about cooking and culinary experiences around the world, my students will have the fuel to rocket themselves to a successful future that their relatives only dream of.

By donating to this project my students will have access to ideas, concepts, and strategies that will allow them to break the bonds of multi-generational poverty in one of the worst schools in the country to achieve the American Bootstrap Dream.
