I teach High School Algebra, Geometry, and Food Safety to freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. The students at my school come from both rural and urban parts of Kentucky and some need intensive therapeutic support to overcome the effects of abuse, neglect, or other family crisis situations.
My Project
These tools will help me build a culinary playground for my students. This equipment will allow them to try different cooking techniques and develop skills that will transfer to their first restaurant job, to their home kitchen, or to the next Michelin star awarded restaurant.
With these tools, students will be experiment, learn, and create in my classroom "kitchen." They will also be able to create recipes and bring them to life.
The trial and error in cooking helps develop creative thinking and resilience. And nothing is more rewarding than a success in the form of good food!
