My students need these basic supplies such as wire whips, oven mitts, liquid dish and laundry detergent to learn the skills required to enter into the culinary field.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
A kitchen with the bare necessities. It is a challenge to teach cooking procedures, methods and techniques without the necessary equipment needed.
My students are the best students in the state.
They are very outgoing and they are very eager to learn. They are always trying to stay on task to the best of their ability. Whatever I ask of them, they don't hesitate to respond. We are in a high school setting in the state of Mississippi.
My Project
I am requesting these supplies; hair restraints, roasting pans, wire whips, sauce pots, etc., to enhance the education of my students. By having these supplies, my students will be able to preform, master and compete in future competition. Learning to cook on a professional level is not an easy task when you have three skillets and twelve students waiting for their turn to cook. Time management and organizational skills are vital in the food industry. These resources will develop the necessary skills needed in the culinary industry. I will be able to instruct more effectively the how to with the actual utensils on hand. The students will learn the fundamentals of professional cookery and the insight that comes from the experience.
A kitchen without the proper supplies is like baking bread without flour.
This request is so important for the students because we don't have the necessary supplies needed to teach the skills required to enter into the culinary field. By having these supplies, I will be able to engage all of my students at the same time, and this will enable them to receive as much training as possible. With the proper supplies we can produce positive results.
