Help me give my students the opportunity to cuddle up with a good book while learning an important lesson in history. Many students aren't familiar with the story of "Hidden Figures" and its importance in molding our culture.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach a group of intelligent, energetic, curious, generous and overall eager-to-learn 6th graders! They are very helpful and always excited about taking on new challenges with engaging lessons.

I think my students will benefit from training themselves to be college and career-prepared by integrating more engaging and technical activities and assignments into our daily academics.

My students are very inspirational and filled with potential. They can reach their full potential and beyond with access to more opportunities!

My Project

Students will be able to engage in reading fluency and comprehension while on Christmas break while learning a very valuable and key lesson in African American history. Hidden Figures is one of the stories most students aren't familiar with or know very little about. With Black History Month approaching soon after students return, they can have a head start on one very valuable lesson and add this powerful tool to their at-home library. If students don't have a home library, this can be an awesome way to get them started!
