This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my autistic self-contained class are always willing to take on a challenge. I work in a self-contained autistic classroom in a high poverty school district. My students range from kindergarten to second grade. They are motivated, loving, and hardworking! As an educator, I want to try to bridge the learning gap in the 10 months they are in my class. I try to motivate learning on a daily basis using various methods and support their learning by providing my students with experiences to get them excited about learning. I love to inspire and challenge my students with high expectations to have them succeed. I try to help my families also learn different methods to inspire their children. When you believe in your kids, others will follow your lead. Help me build confidence and knowledge in my class that will follow them in their learning for years to come!

My Project

Please help me by provided a cuddle ball that my students can use when they need a break. This will allow them to use their hands in a safe way and if it is thrown it will not hurt others around them.

I have also requested magnetic letter tiles to use with CVC, CVCE words and letter knowledge.

All kids love magnets so by giving them 3 letters and an image they can put the letters together to create the CVC word and eventually CVCE words as their knowledge increases. I can also use it for letter identification and sounds for some of my students who are not at that level yet.

The magnetic number tiles will be used for them to arrange numbers in order when given a group of number tiles. I will be able to have them use it to match quantities with given numbers and addition as well. Help me keep learning fun and engaging for my class.
