"Every kid is one caring adult away from being a success story." I have the opportunity to teach 23 third grade students in a low-income public elementary school. These students are eager to learn and are full of curiosity and creativity. My amazing students have unique gifts, talents, and strengths. The diverse cultures, backgrounds, and learning levels are what makes our classroom so special. We celebrate the uniqueness of our classroom every day and strive to make our classroom a home.
My students mean the world to me.
I care for them immensely, but we need help. Having more technology in our classroom will enhance student learning experiences. In today's age of technology, computer literacy is an integral component of any student's learning plan. Students gain access to resources and information by having more technology in the classroom. Our school lacks current technology to help our students thrive academically. We only have three desktop computers in our classroom. Providing our classroom with more technology will help the students become more successful learners.
My Project
Chromebooks will allow my students the chance to take learning into their own hands. Each day, my third graders work in small groups during both math and language arts. Having Chromebooks in the classroom for the students to use during independent time will be so beneficial!
Students who are more engaged cause less disruptions to their peers and everyone learns more.
Whether the Chromebooks are being used for independent research, connecting with others around the globe, or simply extra practice in math, my students will be more engaged during a time when they can be easily distracted or tune out.
