My Students

My students come to school ready to learn. Having different and engaging materials in the class encourages them to explore. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

My students attend a small, urban elementary school in a mid-sized city.

The majority of kids in the school are eligible for free or reduced priced meals and typically do not have access to a great deal of technology. Aside from the lack of resources, my students have a great enthusiasm for learning.

My Project

The cube seating that I have requested will be positioned at our guided reading table. Students will rotate and share this area during reading time, as well as instruction time. This will provide a nice change from sitting at a desk all day. Students will be comfortable and safe using the cube. This will provide a "comfy" setting where students can read to each other or read silently to themselves.

This new comfortable seating area will enable my students to learn how to work together and collaborate as learners.

They will not only work on academic skills in this setting, but social skills as well.

Your donation to this project will help create a relaxing and friendly environment.

Students will learn that reading is a tool for learning, as well as enjoyment and relaxation. Creating lifelong readers is the goal of this project!
