I am a 6th-grade teacher who has the honor and privilege of helping to open a new school for the 2017-18 school year. The vision of the school is that students learn through play, hands-on experiences, technology integration, design thinking, building, and much more. We believe that children are kind, responsible, honest, and resilient. They are risk-takers, creative, and real-world problem solvers when given the right tools. We believe they are capable of changing the world. And we need to be ready to guide them!
Our students need to be prepared for a future that utilizes technology, creativity, and ingenuity.
In the future, global citizens will need to be creative problem solvers in order to be successful at changing our world. As an innovative educator, I know that each child deserves the opportunity to learn and create with technology tools and this project will help me cultivate the skills necessary for our children to be 21st Century learners and thinkers by allowing them to learn through play.
My Project
Would you like to make your own robot? My 6th graders sure would! The best thing is, there is no wrong way to make a robot using cubelets, and there is loads of problem-solving, exploration, and creative design thinking involved in the process.
Our class is inspired by learning through play and these cubelets are exactly what we need to foster creativity and imagination.
My students can learn to code their own robot with Cubelets. And the Bluetooth Cubelet will allow them to control their robot remotely! How exciting! Can you imagine what we can build together? The sky's the limit!
