My Pre-K students range from ages 4 - 5 years old. Most have
never been in school or daycare so it is truly an exciting time for them.
Most of my students come from low income families and nearly three-fourths of them are first generation immigrants to the United States. In my classroom of 20 students, there are 8 different languages spoken. My students possess a deep desire to learn and everyday I get to see their incredible potential.
Language and poverty issues are barriers that my students face everyday. Despite these barriers; I am continually impressed with their resilience, curiosity, and joy. Helping them discover their innate talents, skills and passion is why I became a teacher.
Pre-K students have boundless energy, curiosity and a
willingness to expand their knowledge; this is part of their natural giftedness, but it also can pose some learning challenges.
These chairs that I am hoping to get will enable the students to sit and concentrate during large group and independent reading times.
The Indoor/Outdoor 3 in 1 chair set offer greater comfort to larger children during whole group activity on the carpet.
Sometimes sitting crisscross can be uncomfortable for some children and it can actually distract the attention of the students and the learning environment is compromised.
Seating and comfort is important for all learners.
