Help me give my students and our school CTE classes tools for extra learning opportunities that are fun and engaging. The Knife Practice kits are a great way to teach middle school knife skills safely!
My middle school students are very motivated in our elective class; they thrive in group lessons and are eager to face new challenges and build new relationships in the process. In their spare time, they pop in to visit and share ideas of what they would like to do next in class in which inspires me to find additional resources to support their learning.
Our school provides 90% of all extra curricular activities in our community, for some of them it’s the only opportunity and chance to gain another layer of in depth learning that builds real life skills.
It is essential to have the tools to provide these opportunities for our students.
My Project
With these supplies we will be able to have provide a waffle bar breakfast and an ice cream social that would give students the ways and means to give the projects sustainability and focus.
Our school provides after school and summer time STEM Kamp's which include special need students.
The rock tumbler and knife kits will provide daily engagement for STEM Kamp participants. The knife skill sequence allows students to practice precision knife skills without the expense of product. In the Science Kamp's, students get to see geology forces at work in a before and after sequence.
In order to meet CTE math standards I have included some math instructional support materials which include a wide range of basic kitchen math principles and measurements, fractions, conversions, and equivlents.
