My Students
My school is a special place because it is one of the most diverse schools in our school district. Our school mission revolves around accepting diversity! We have used sports to connect our students and have committed to being a healthy campus. In recent months, we have been challenged as a school and community, due to the budget crisis. Although we have been able to use creativity in our curriculum we are in desperate need of teaching resources.
The low-income students we have at our school have many challenges outside of school that make the chance for an equal opportunity even more of a vital necessity.
We are now in a scramble to find equipment that intrigues kids to stay healthy! Accommodating our large number of students has become even more of an untouchable situation because of our lack of resources. Through this tough situation we have stuck together and managed to create a limited learning environment, but need the community's help!
My Project
Exercise is a vital retreat for these low income students! Exercise allows these students to escape their daily issues, and feel for that time less worry. Our students need not only this critical escape, but also to know that they get provided resources that more fortunate schools receive for class. Providing the sliding board, cones, and resistant cords will give our less fortunate kids the joy they deserve. Providing hope to these students that they are being looked after, and giving the same opportunity to be successful is important for their future.
