My Students

My students are eager to learn about the arts and different types of mediums and how they can mix that with other content areas. They are students who are at a 70% poverty level. Art allows the students to express themselves in ways that words will not allow.

Having access to materials for all students to use no matter what their financial status is imperative to creating equal learning opportunities.

I would love to be able to order an assortment of mediums for students. In my classes, we have a mix of regular ed students, as well as, special education students. These materials will be great to use with our diverse mix of students.

My Project

Students will utilize the TV and TV stand to critique each others work. With the pandemic students have not been able to view each others work as we typically do in class. With the use of the TV, students will be able to share their work with other students, and allow the class to see them.

Critiquing work is important for students to learn how to expand their work, separate themselves from it, and grow.

When students create artwork it is easy to get caught up in what they have created and not see where they should improve. Opening critiques in the classroom is important for students to learn how to talk about artwork, how to help other students, and to realize their mistakes in their own work.
