This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from a high poverty environment. I have 20 students in my classroom from ages 4-6. Most students have not been to school before or have had little pre-k experience. They are eager to learn and enjoy different types of activities. The students do not have many resources at home to use, so school is the only place they will have the opportunity to experience different types of literature and technology.
Children at this age love to learn and these children are no different.
They are kind and respectful to each other and their teachers. It is our pleasure to have them in class with us.
My Project
Using literature in our classroom will help enrich our students' lives. They will be introduced to a variety of topics and will be able to explore them online. Each magazine has an online link that provides even more than just a magazine. Online, students can watch a video on the topic, listen to the magazine being read, participate in a learning activity and answer questions to demonstrate their knowledge of the subject taught. Our students will enjoy the non-traditional way of learning through video and online learning.
In the Let's Find Out magazine, children will experience rich vocabulary, games, videos and reading activities.
This magazine supports our Common Core standards and classroom objectives in ELA, Social Studies, Science and Math.
