My students are those who need a little extra help along the way. Working in a Resource Room is a great privilege as I get to see my students shine in a different way from others. Every success is a big success no matter how small in our classroom. Not only do my students struggle with some sort of learning disability, they are also students who attend a Title I school, meaning many families are considered to be in poverty. The classroom culture we create together is one that is a safe and loving environment and is not only for learning but for just being yourself and accepted. We learn together, play together and laugh together.
Botley coding robot will give young elementary students opportunities to learn to code with hands on collaborative experiences. Botley Coding Robot will be used school wide as it will be added to the STEAM items we have that can be checked out for use in classrooms building wide, so this project will read a lot of students. This will give students a chance to work together, improve critical thinking and coding skills all at the same time. Students will greatly benefit from a very engaging lesson using the friendly little robot called Botley and all the wonderful accessories each package comes with. The academic lessons that go along with this little guy will work nicely with current standards already being taught in the classroom but in a more interactive approach.
