This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have the pleasure of working in a Chicago Public School in the South Loop of Chicago. My classroom is filled with wonderful 3rd and 4th graders who are eager to learn. Currently I'm working on improving our student independent work time, so that it promotes rigorous tasks, complex texts, targeted skill practice, and high student engagement. In order to do so, we need your help in providing access to computers by purchasing Chromebooks for the students to use during centers. Currently, our school does not have technology available for students to use in the classroom. Although there's a computer lab, not all of the computers are reliable, and the lab is to be shared by all classrooms in the building. Having the opportunity to have technology during centers will help my students grow tremendously, as well as keep them engaged in all learning. Thanks in advance for your kindness and generosity.
My Project
Chromebooks will be used daily our classroom. They will allow students to work on skills that are targeted to their growth specifically. I plan to use these Chromebooks during centers as a way to help push my students' thinking and allow them to practice new learned material. The implementation of these new Chromebooks will not only help with our kids' testing scores, but it will also help to get them one step closer to college and career readiness. Students will practice using Google Classroom, typing, researching, and creating projects. Again, I will like to thank you in advance for helping my students reach success.
