Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My gifted and talented students are eager to come to school and are excited to learn!
Our gifted and talented program consists of a variety of learners from grades 1-5.
Our public school of choice is anything but traditional. Our student body is approximately 1,000 students and is rich in diversity with 40% low socioeconomic status, 40% Hispanic, 32% African American, 20% Caucasian, 3% Asian, and 5% biracial. Our campus strives to be the destination school for elementary fine arts. I teach in a community with rigorous academics, an exemplary fine arts program, building a lifetime of wellness while nurturing the gifts and talents of all. We celebrate the whole child; mind, body, and heart.
My Project
My vision is to ignite critical and creative thinking skills in my classroom. The Famous Inventors Problem Solving STEM Kits activities provide students with the opportunity to collaborate and develop 21st Century skills needed to work in today's multi-dimensional career settings.
My goal is to have learners create their own knowledge by creating and interacting with physical objects.
The Arts & Crafts Supply Center and the Classroom Collage Box will allow students to create one-of-a-kind projects using various textures, shapes, and colors.
Students will learn that success often comes after multiple failures. The outcomes of this project will lead to determination, independence, creative problem solving, and an authentic preparation for the real world through simulating challenges.
