My students need a first aid kit, flashlight, and water packets for a crisis bucket for our classroom in the unfortunate event of a school lock-down that extends for a period of time.
I have the best 2nd Grade class in the world! It includes 10 boys and 10 girls. We are an inclusion class with autistic and behavior disorder friends as well.
We come from hard-working, mid-west families and want the very best for our children.
Our classroom is one of two second grade rooms in a small neighborhood school. We strive to provide a safe environment, in which our students can learn and grow. We hope for the best, but have to prepare for the unthinkable.
My Project
In the horrific event of a school lock-down or disaster that extends for a long period of time, my classroom is in need of a "crisis bucket." This bucket would contain all of the items needed should my class go into lock-down mode for hours or in the event of a natural disaster. My list of items contains all of the basic necessities, like a first aid kit and flashlight, that my school is not providing at this time.
I teach 7 and 8 year old children, who should not have to go without sanitation, water, light, food, or first aid during a crisis situation at our school.
