Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My kindergarten students are excited to go to school for the first time. For the most part, they live in poverty and receive free lunch. The students are very diverse learners who are eager to learn! My school is in an urban environment.
We are a K-5 elementary school with over eight hundred students.
Our school district has been experiencing financial difficulties for many years. That being said, we have great students, dedicated teachers, and two administrators who work together to make our school a safe environment for everyone!
My Project
My classroom has a Cricut but my students and I need materials so we can be creative and have a bright, print-rich environment. I will use the Cricut to make things, and teach my students how to use it as well.
Using a Cricut can inspire our students.
Our students can be very creative and use the Cricut as well! The Cricut is a very easy tool to use. With the Vinyl paper, my students and I will be able to make name tags, and make our classroom print rich. We will use the Cricut with an open mind. We also will use the Vinyl to make sight word books and the letters of the alphabet and numbers to be hung in our classroom. For the iron on vinyl we will make field day shirts for our classroom! On field day we will be able to have all matching shirts with the iron on vinyl. We will keep all of our materials in the Cricut bag so we can be organize and not lose anything. My students will learn how to stay organize and how to keep things nice and neat as well.
