I am lucky enough to work with a group of enthusiastic, loving third graders. I work in an inner city Title I school. My students come from many cultural backgrounds. My class consists of regular education, ESL and special education students. I not only teach the students the basic skills of reading, math, science and social studies, but also teach them social skills, proper hygiene and much more.
These students come to school every day eager to learn, no matter what challenges might lay ahead for them.
Nothing beats seeing a smile on the face of the child when they pick up a book to read, conduct and experiment or use hands-on materials. A love for learning can be both educational as well as a great outlet for these students.
I hope to be able to provide my students with the opportunities to grow and learn to their highest potential, in addition to having fun!
My Project
The Cricut Maker is a tool that can be used by both the students and me. I can use it to decorate the classroom, create learning aides, labels, the possibilities are endless.
I really want to get the students’ creative juices flowing this year and the Cricut Maker is just the thing!
Students can use the Cricut to make cards, labels, stickers, gifts for their families and more. The use of the Cricut will allow me to provide an environment that allows them to be open to new possibilities, remain curious about the world, and learn from their mistakes. Once their creativity is unleashed, I expect it to flow over into other areas of learning!
My number one goal is to provide an environment that is inviting, colorful, safe, as well as a place to be creative and learn. I believe that the Cricut Maker can aid me in accomplishing this for the students.
