Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students are so special and they need to be reminded of that! We are from a small town that has experienced its own amount of tragedy. Students need to be motivated and reminded that they can make a difference and they are the future.
The students are eighth graders in a small town in California.
My students have mostly grown up together. They are in a junior high school of fewer than 500 students. These students have all been through the same school together since Kindergarten. They know each other, they trust each other and they love each other. It's commonly said that "there is something special about a small town." We truly have that.
My Project
A Cricut make a huge difference in my classroom in a few different ways. The Cricut can be used to help decorate the classroom. Even though this is a middle school classroom, students really do appreciate when teachers put forth effort in decorating and making the room feel welcoming. I know that the Cricut can help me in this way, as well as organizing. When I have four different classes, organization is key and the Cricut can help me work on that.
My Leadership students will get the most out of the Cricut.
They can use it to help them create posters that are very presentable. They can use it to create items for fundraising or even helping other teachers. They already make birthday cards for all students and staff, this can help them go to the next level. This gives them another tool to help put forth their best work. I am excited to see what they can come up with while using this tool.
