This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a group of diverse and high-achieving kids who come to school ready to work hard and learn every day. They are a great community of learners, and they have so many questions about the world around them!
As a math and science teacher, it is awesome to have students who love to learn and have inquiring minds.
They get so excited when they know we are going to be doing experiments or using manipulatives because hands-on learning is so meaningful to them. They really are amazing kids!
My Project
A year and a half ago, I got a bearded dragon for a class pet since I am a science teacher and I believe that animals teach students so much about responsibility and compassion. When I first got her, she was a baby and we have watched her grow rapidly from a baby dragon to a full grown one!
Due to her rapid growth, she is in dire need of a bigger enclosure!
When I bought her, I got one of the bearded dragon kits that are the smallest recommended size. Since she is such a big girl, I would love her to have more space to run around her enclosure and entertain us all day! It would be great fun for us as well as for her. These resources would certainly make for a happy lizard!
