I currently have 18 curious three to five year old children in my school family, with and without disabilities. Also some of the students come from bilingual families. The children are all so unique in their own ways and so eager to learn about the world around them! Most of the children in this classroom come from low income families and are not as fortunate in materialistic ways as some other children are. Because of this, I am working on enhancing our classroom environment to give the students everything they deserve in school to meet their academic, physical, social-emotional, and cognitive needs.
Bugs are plain fascinating for kids. My students love to learn about insects, especially butterflies, ladybugs and all sorts of creepy crawlies! What a better way to teach about ladybugs and butterflies with real live specimens. My school family needs a ladybug habitat, a butterfly habitat with real specimens, life cycle books and bugs to enhance their Insect Study learning experience. It would be a great scientific experience for them and also something that they will never forget. These materials will be part of our Science Area and will provide them knowledge about our environment and how do insects live.
