I teach 3rd Grade at a Title I school where my students are not provided many opportunities that some of their more affluent peers are provided. Many come from one parent families or are raised by grandparents or other family members. Some are refugees from war-torn countries.
Even with all of that, one thing they all have in common is the love to learn!They are excited and engaged when something interests them but in order to help keep them engaged, they need resources like up to date books and other materials that their parents cannot not often afford so I have to rely on sites like this one and/or use my own funds to help provide opportunities for my students.

My Project
A Cricut Machine has always been a dream of mine to have for my classroom. The Cricut will allow my students to create endless art projects. It will allow us to take parent gifts to a new level! Having a Cricut in my classroom with allow the students to design their own project and have it cut on the variety of different materials like vinyl and fabric! The Cricut will also allow students to cut letters and images for posters that they would make to display projects done in the classroom.
With the endless possibilities of the Cricut Machine, it will serve as another means of differentiated learning.
Along with all of the student benefits, the Cricut will also benefit the teacher. I will be able to create better visuals to post in the classroom including motivational bulletin boards, all in a fraction of the time that it takes without the Cricut. As teachers, we try to maximize our time and the Cricut will certainly help!
