As an Early Childhood teacher, I thrive on the opportunity to establish a love for learning and incorporate technology in the learning environment. Given the opportunity, I would love to connect technology to the natural creativity I see daily with my students.
It is vital for students to learn 21st Century skills along with key content areas in order to prepare them for their future careers.
Coming from various backgrounds and experiences, I find one thing in common with my students- their love for all things hands-on. Working at a performing arts school, my students have their creativity naturally brought out in their special areas and it carries over to the classroom naturally. All students have the willing and ability to learn new content whether it be in technology, music, dance, art, drama and into core content areas. Being at this performing arts, but also title 1 school, I strive to bring these 21st century skills daily into my classroom of young learners and future world problem solvers.
My Project
Allowing students to unlock their creativity is essential in Early Childhood. By utilizing 3Doodler pens, my students will have to ability to transform their learning from 2D, paper and pencil, to 3D.
It is up to us, as educators, to inspire and spark creativity within our students.
Using 3Doodler pens, students will create models of animal habitats in Science, story settings in Language Arts and tangible models during STEM challenges. In STEM, it is vital for students to learn and use the Fours C's. The Four C's include; Creativity, Collaboration, Critical Thinking, and Communication. 3Doodler will naturally provide creativity while allowing students to utilize their critical thinking skills while working in collaborative groups.
If funded, students' engagement will be brought to the next level. I can only imagine what they will create!
