Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Imagine walking into a new environment full of learning opportunities, colors, and limitless imagination. Well, this is what our students walk into on an everyday basis. Our students have a range of abilities such as: Autism, Down Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, Speech Language Delay, and so much more. They are eager to learn and soak in all the information like big sponges ready to emerge themselves. What seems like so much at first is just a little bit for our big learners.
A day without learning is like a day without breathing.
Breathing is necessary every day and learning happens everywhere from school to the home. We are a Title I school and located in a low income neighborhood. Even with everything going on our students are eager to come to school everyday.
My Project
The sand box and John Deere tractor toys will make a big impact on our students learning. The students love to be sensory and the sandbox will allow them to do that. The sandbox will allow the children to be creative in so many different ways. A sandbox should be a must in every preschool yard. The John Deere toys will only enhance the creativity.
Some students will never get to experience playing in sand and this will allow them that opportunity.
This activity is something you don't really see on playgrounds at schools. Let's be the change together.
