My students come to class excited and ready to take a break from their academic classes and get their hands dirty.
I have a very diverse group of students that come from a range of economic backgrounds.
We have a very nurturing and caring school which seems to bring out the creativity in our students. My students bring all their interesting backgrounds and life experiences to my class and are eager to express themselves and experiment with the art of ceramics. Our ceramics program is very new and in need of some basic resources.
My students will use this wedging board to repurpose clay so that it can be reused for other class projects. Students will learn the value of recycling and repurposing materials while learning ceramic techniques. They will contribute to running a functional ceramics room and help promote recycling and discourage wastefulness in the Ceramics room.
This donation to our ceramics room will allow the curriculum to include lessons on recycling so that I can help shape our kids into creative and thoughtful people who will value our environment and appreciate our limited resources.
