My Students

Our school is located in Northern Utah surrounded by beautiful mountains I am an Elementary Media Specialist. We have a large student body at our school. Our students love to read, research, explore, create, and imagine. Our students love the excitement of reading, finding new books, and participating in Makerspace during our library time. Our students are eager to continue learning and trying new things. This year is our first year adding Makerspace to our library. I love when students walk in and ask if it is Makerspace day.

My Project

Our school recently added Makerspace this school year into our library. Our students have loved learning, planning, creating, designing, improving, and collaborating as they work to accomplish tasks in library. Each month we have a Makerspace day and we have 12 items that we set up as centers. Having additional items will continue to keep things fresh and fun while also learning about the design process. We also added a SEL corner where students can go to relax, think, and recharge. Additional seating for this area would be helpful. Currently we have seats for 2 students. It is everyone's favorite space to relax in, having additional seating would be very helpful and it would give more students a chance to enjoy the SEL area.
