This is my first year teaching and I am so excited to help, love, and encourage 23 first graders this upcoming school year. Being able to help and watch these students grow is a big part as to why I want to be a teacher. In order to make sure my students are set up for success in a loving and caring environment, I need to have supplies. Having the resources and supplies needed and on hand will help these students achieve amazing things in the walls of my classroom.
This school is a title 1 campus.
Which means a low income area. Therefore, not all my students will be able to have the resources they need to grow and develop that other students. Also, working in a title 1 area, I see a lot of struggling parents who can’t provide an outlet for creativity.
These 23 first graders are the most energetic, lovable group. I am so blessed that these kiddos get to be mine for my first year of teaching. Each student is the kindest and loves to work together. I hope that I am able to bless them with the resources and tools to be creative!
My Project
With this project, this will allow my students be work together and be creative. Through the activities that I will implement in the classroom based off of these supplies I will help them grow. Using their hands and their brain, they will be able to be creative. Students nowadays do not have a lot of time to be creative. Students often just go on their phones or computers. So having an outlet where they can be creative is incredibly important. They need a chance to be kids. Therefore, with these supplies and the support from you, I will be able to do just that.
Some of these supplies includes snap cubes, pegboards for perler beads, colored sand, and paper!
The snap cubes are amazing to use because the students can be used for counting, measuring, or just building. The students have been requesting these and will be thrilled when they can use them.
The colored sand will be used for spelling words! The students will work on the weeks slelling words by writing them in the sand! A fun way for them to learn new words! The sand will definitely enhance their learning!
Perler beads is a fun and creative outlet for the students to just be kids and be creative with the beads. They can create fun things while working in hand eye coordination!
All these items will work together to help my student become more creative and grow their mains instead of always being on technology.
