Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
When you enter the door to our kindergarten class, you will see twenty boys and girls playing and working with manipulatives ranging from counting counters, letter blocks, a magnifying glass, etc. Though my students come from different backgrounds and nationalities, they all learn through play and hands-on experiences. Many of them speak Spanish as a first language.
They yearn to connect and learn from one another.
My students come to kindergarten with a range of prior knowledge, however, I differentiate instruction to cater to all their needs. They are full of energy, and they learn best from moving and acting out.
My Project
My students need color ink for their work to come alive! Students will soon be learning to write about music they hear, art they see, and interesting images.
Creating these images and art in color will make a big difference and will help them amplify their visions.
Students will be able to better describe the pictures they see in color and texture words. The color printer will also allow us to print newsletters and pictures to send home to families. Having a color printer in the classroom is essential in this day and age to help students express their creativity through technology.
The containers, sentence strips and anchor sheets will be used in centers to enforce writing and reading concepts.
