This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I tell my students to be what they can be, and tomorrow their nation will be what they want it to be! For all of my career, I have been blessed to teach in urban Northeast Washington D.C. I am beyond blessed to serve this community. Each day, we strive to break barriers one at a time. Our work encompasses the mission and goal of breaking the cycle of poverty in the city. It starts with the children! I teach 120 of the most energetic, enthusiastic and passionate students on the planet. I believe they can defy the odds under the best leadership and mentorship.
My Project
These additional materials will give scholars a chance to express their creativity to make gifts for teachers, students and families. The idea is to be able to use these materials to beautify our school, and create camaraderie amongst grade levels. The Apple Pencil will allow students to design and create on their iPads with ease! The PARCC practice books and printer will continue to develop the test taking ability of all. We all know that despite our personal opinions of standardized testing, in particular ares, test scores will make or break funding and ratings. These materials will help scholars achieve their goals by supplementing the curriculum we already use. I can't think of a more deserving group! Remember, Creativity Counts!!!
