Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Since the first day of school, this kindergarten class has shown excitement, eagerness, and a passion for learning. They are examples of determination. Their minds are focused and committed to growth. These students are gaining knowledge in a new way since COVID-19. Not only are the students learning to adapt, but so are their families. Many families have lost their jobs, have gotten sick, and lost loved ones.
My last kindergarten class was 2 years ago when the pandemic started.
That class was robbed, like so many others due to COVID-19. I am hoping that this new kindergarten class gets the opportunity every student deserves. This class is special for many reasons. One reason, is that they are the first kindergarten class to be back physically in a school building. Another reason, is that they are in the building learning how to adapt with the new expectations such as wearing masks, keeping the social distancing rule, and learning to socialize in a different way.
We are a school in the Bronx where the needs of each student vary. Each student is unique and their learning styles all differ. One thing they have in common is the ambition for more.
My Project
The donations given towards this project would help create hands on centers, give the students options for designs, families can not always provide certain materials for class. If funded the class will be able to use the Cricut to create centers, make different projects for various Holidays, give the students an opportunity to personalize different genres of writing using various materials like mini books, acrostic poems on shirts, pop it centers using letters or numbers.
They will be able to be their own creators and label their own learning centers, personalizing their own materials with different shapes, colors, and words.
Students will be able to take home projects made in the class that will strengthen and improve their academic growth.
