My students need sturdy writing journals to help them become successful and organized writers. My students also need construction paper and paint to create more works of art.
Our school is a Title I school with an amazing group of diverse students. Roughly 75% of our students are on free or reduced lunch and about 35% are English Language Learners. Kindergarten is such an important year in a child's education -- it's a year dedicated to learning foundational skills in everything. Our students work so hard in school and I want to ensure they love coming everyday!
My class is comprised of a wonderful bunch of kids from various backgrounds.
For many of my students, Kindergarten is their very first experience in school and it is my goal to make it the best experience ever!
My Project
My kindergarteners have been working so hard at becoming writers but the journals we currently have don’t hold up. We need sturdy journals that will last us through the year. My students have shown a great interest in writing so I want to be able to provide them with journals with more space to write on. The journals I am hoping for would be great for students because the lines are spaced out nicely for little kindergarten hands. In addition, I am hoping to get new paint and construction paper for my little artists. We do tons of arts and crafts to supplement our curriculum but we are running low on all these basic supplies.
