“The mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled.” ― Plutarch. Our school community works hard to provide the best possible education for our students!
This conference will be the perfect tool to successfully implement creativity and innovation into my instructional practice!
My classroom of fourth-grade ESOL students come from countries such as Algeria and Cambodia. There are 20 different language groups in my school. We celebrate the rich diversity of our school community. For many of my students, this is their first experience with English. In my school of over 500 students, 50% of the students are English Language Learners. Many of our students come to us with Limited Formal Education.
As an EL Teacher, I am always looking for ways to bring creativity into my instruction. It is my goal to improve my practice as a teacher of English Language Learners. I need to attend the Think Differently: A Crash Course in Creativity & Innovation conference in Chicago, IL. to improve my classroom instruction. This project will cover the registration fees, lodging, food, and transportation in order to participate in this professional development. The process of language acquisition intrigued me and I knew instantly that becoming an EL teacher was what I wanted to do.
At this conference, I will learn methods and strategies to bring creativity into my teaching and into my classroom to better engage my students!
I will also learn about different learning styles and ways to engage students in the learning process. I will also learn the best ways to engage students through technology and develop problem-solving skills. Your donation to this project will provide a valuable professional development opportunity to bring creativity and innovation into my EL classroom! Your support is greatly appreciated!
