My students love to communicate, collaborate, use critical thinking skills and be creative!get the supplies they need!
My students walk into our classroom every day ready to learn and determined to succeed. However, many of them are unable to bring in their own supplies, so it is up to me to make sure that they have what they need to learn. As their teacher, I want to be able to provide them with all the tools they need to succeed.
I am a Kindergarten special education inclusion teacher in a Title I funded public school on Central Falls.
My students have challenges ranging from learning disabilities to speech and language impairments and autism. They struggle to keep up with the Common Core Curriculum and need a lot of support. As their teacher, it is my job to do everything possible to make the curriculum accessible to them. We DREAM BIG! Help us make the world a better place!
My Project

Flexible seating within our classroom will provide students with a choice.
When children are given a choice, they are given power. In this case, we will be opening their awareness of how they learn most effectively.
We look forward to giving our students access to wiggle seats, soft seat cushions and a stability ball in efforts of increasing academic engagement while providing room to wiggle!
I have chosen several materials to help with sensory needs in my classroom.
These items will be used with all students, but they are especially effective with students who have sensory processing disorder.
