My wonderful and talented 4th and 5th-grade students are from a variety of backgrounds and ethnicities. We have worked hard this year to create a kind little community within our classroom walls and it is really an awesome place to spend most of our day. Our school is a Title I school with many students who speak English as a second language, and about 44% of them receive free and reduced lunch.
The wonderful students at our school are hardworking, kind, and appreciative of the opportunities presented to them.
Our school is located in California and overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Our campus provides us with a great view and is an amazing place to allow nature to inspire our creativity.
My Project
So far this year, my students have learned about numerous artists, some from the past, such as Vincent Van Gogh, others from more recent times such as James Rizzi. They have taken the lessons they have learned from each artist and created beautiful masterpieces. In order for them to continue with the process of art inspired by our mentor artists, they desperately need more paper, ink, and markers to help them produce more amazing art pieces. They also need flash drives to help store pictures of their work, as well as the work of their classmates.
Over the past 10 years I have witnessed numerous students flourish when given the opportunity to express themselves creatively.
I would love to be able to see my current students show off more of their artistic abilities. Please help my fourth and fifth-graders continue on their artistic journey this year.
