It's a beautiful thing to touch a mind and know that you've planted a seed of a dream that will one day take root and grow, blossom, reproduce, and perhaps, one day, make someone else's life as rich and as beautiful, full of dreams.
My Middle School ESL students are amazing, talented, and highly motivated students that come from many different countries.
When they walk through my doors at the beginning of the school year, I have no idea what their stories are. But as we work together, I am inspired by their courage, determination and desire to be the best that they can be.
They have huge dreams! Sometimes they ask if they are dreaming too big. My answer, NO DREAM IS TOO BIG! They have the desire to learn English and make something wonderful of their lives, and even help their families along the way. With your help, they can acquire the tools and skills needed to reach those goals.
My Project
The printer we need already has a special place in my classroom, cleared, dusted, and waiting to get to work. My students begin right on the first day of school getting their creative writing bugs moving. We begin with their Interactive Notebooks, organized and eye-catching with colored pencils and Word Clouds to make important information stand out. So, when they apply their learning to essay writing, their appetites have already been whetted for bold and colorful. Instead of worrying about whether they can make their writing projects stand out, my students will be able to just focus on their writing and creativity, not whether they'll be able to print it.
