Creative Thinking with Creative Seating!

My Project

My students are amazing! I teach at a large high school in rural East Tennessee. My students love coming into my classroom each day because we are creative in our classroom! Social Studies can often be labeled as a "bland" or even "boring" subject; therefore, I do my best to bring our lessons alive. It is often difficult for some of our more interactive lessons to occur due to our traditional school desk seating options. I hope to incorporate this table (and more) into our classroom to provide my students with the comfort and space they need in order to be creative. Our creative lessons include building visuals of historical concepts or ideas with Legos and Play-Doh. We also create one-pagers and many other historical art projects. We even interact as groups and participate in escape room activities to escape situations from the past such as The Black Death. All of these activities will be even more successful with the introduction of tables into the classroom! Thank you for viewing and considering our project.
