My Students
My students attend a Title I school located near a military base. They come to school each day eager to learn, and they work very hard to reach the high expectations that are required of them. I want to give them every opportunity to succeed and become 21st-century learners.
Using technology on a daily basis is implicit in today's educational environment.
I am requesting an iPad to utilize with cooperative groups. This will also allow students to work at their own pace on various apps and projects, as well as provide hands-on engagement and an excitement for learning.
My Project
Staying at the forefront of technology is important to us. Since extra funding is not available to us, we depend upon the generosity of donors. My students thrive and are hungry for new challenges and a way to display, enrich, and expand on their imaginations. By giving them the stimulating tools, such as iPads, to learn various apps and to write code, we are giving them an opportunity to have an edge in a growing and competitively global 21st century environment.
Technologies are tools students should learn with, not from.
In our technology driven world, more and more is expected of our students. Technology has many cross curricular applications and the potential to involve all the multiple intelligences. It can virtually open doors to our imaginations! Hence, the experience of ownership and pride in their conceptions is on-going.
