My students need these amazing STEAM tools like the Magformers to encourage creative thinking and introduce possible future careers. WE need Bee Bot, snap circuits and more.
Our students come from a mix of backgrounds, from middle class to sometimes homeless status, but we always make sure they know we are happy to see them and make school a fun and safe place to learn. We want our students to excel no matter what their home life may be like and no matter what level they start off the school year with. I, personally, want my classroom to be a space that is like a second home.
My Project
In this project there are different types of building, robotics, coding, and engineering tools that allow the students to explore and create. They will be able to create different structures, landmarks, and other forms with the different materials based upon the suggested cards that they will have to build from.
Using these materials will encourage the students to think creatively while following one of the components of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math).
The Magformers are helpful in constructing and problem solving. The docking station will help charge BEE-Bots that are used for technology. The Keva Maker Bot Maze uses engineering to create mazes and technology to guide a small robot. Then there are the GoldiBlox that are building materials that are used in different structured challenges, but uses a little girl as the engineer role model.
